Good news islanders. With a good deal of planning & determination, a group of us have discussed doing island composting & green waste collection. With the ever present threat of fire on Rakino, a plan to set up a green waste area & the eventual purchase of a grunty mulcher/shredder would undoubtedly reduce this risk altogether. Cardboard arriving on island is a biggy, you know we pay to have it removed so why not incorporate it into the composting system. Great idea. All these initiatives are to make our island more sustainable, reduce/reuse waste & generally make us ethically responsible...
